lt. gary Haba completes fbi national academy
Beachwood Police Lt. Gary Haba recently completed the FBI National Academy, a 10-week program of advance management, investigative and fitness training for U.S. and international law enforcement executives. Participation is by invitation only, through a nomination process and participants are drawn from every state. Two hundred and ten officers participated in this program by taking undergraduate and/or graduate college courses in Quantico, Virginia, with topics including: law, behavioral science, forensic science, understanding terrorism/terrorist mindsets, leadership development, communication, and health/fitness. The final academy test, an optional one, was The Yellow Brick Road, a 6.1 mile fitness challenge consisting of a grueling run through a hilly, wooded trail built by the Marines. Along the way, the participants must climb over walls, run through creeks, jump through simulated windows, scale rock faces with ropes, crawl under barbed wire in muddy water, maneuver across a cargo net, and more. When (and if) the students complete this test, they receive an actual yellow brick to memorialize their achievement. Congratulations to Lt. Haba for successfully completing this feat.
