nopec – gas aggregation program Beachwood voted to implement a natural gas aggregation program. We have been participating in an opt-out electric ‘aggregation’ since 2000. It is managed by the North East Ohio Public Energy Council (NOPEC), and will soon include natural gas. Only residents that are not in a contract with another gas supplier – and are current on their utility account – will soon receive an opt-out letter. In an opt-out program, you are automatically enrolled and your savings will automatically show up on your next utility bill after the enrollment deadline. Residents may opt-out or opt back in any time at no charge. The opt-out letters will provide pricing information and instructions if you do not wish to participate. If you are currently in a contract and want to switch to NOPEC – cancel your existing contract and once again you will be automatically enrolled with NOPEC.
